R40 DVI support

Please help me settle whether the R40 will support a TV connected to DVI port of the TP Port Replicator II (whichever one is supported by the R40)

It appears that ATI Driver for R40 "ATI Radeon 7500" supports external display/TV attached to DVI port of Port Replicator (the one supported by the R40). I have installed driver V8.133.2.1.1.1-070206a. Also, Presentation Director (latest version) appears to indicate the R40 will support a TV attached to DVI. My machine with these latest programs/drivers does not seem to recognize that I have a TV attached to DVI when my HDTV is attached to the DVI port. I am using a DVI-HDMI cable. When I attached via S-video, all works fine, but I assume I would have much better resolution if I could make the DVI connection work.
