Restoring an R51e to factory settings

I have an R51e which was misbehaving so have tried to restore to factory settings using Rescue and Recovery. It seems to load the pre-install files but then it hits a stone wall with the simple error message 'error during bios reboot'.

Can anyone please advise what to do now?

May I know what kind of misbehavior your lappy is showing?

It wouldn't boot up. The operating system would not load.

If holding down the access IBM key on restart doesn't work, hold down the F11 key on restart, which will put you back into the IBM recovery screen
