T40 won't power up on battery

Hi,

My T40 can't power up within battery, it's working only with AC adapter. And what is strange, he can work on AC adapter WIHTOUT battery pluged in. Some fuses, or something is smoked ?
And why in this case i've no backlight, everything else works.
Is that correct? - somethink is fryed up on mainboard, and inverter cannot get power from battery to turn on backlight? If yes, why whole laptop can work without battery?

The laptop will work fine with EITHER the battery or A/C or both. If the machine won'y start off battery, either a fuse or the power circuitry is bad on the motherboard. If the backlight doesn't come on, that could be the light, the inverter, motherboard or the little switch by the LCD cable that is pushed when the lid is closed.

i was checking this on two different inverters, two lights, and two lcd cables.
if this is little switch on lcd cable, i think i'll not have any picture on lcd screen, thats correct? if yes, this can't be this, i've picture all time after boot... dark but it's here.
I'm sure that battery is ok, it's working in other T40 correctly.
