Excessive Page Fault Size on T61p

#1 Post by lndougstevens » Wed Apr 30, 2008 12:01 pm

I have a T61p with 2GB of memory running XP Pro. I am observing excessive PF usage in my monitor. At first it would stay in the 1.3GB range. Today when I rebooted, it was at 1.53GB before I even opened up the memory intense MS Outlook 2007. I am running Symantec Internet Security. Any suggestions? Thanks.

You need to go to "Disable PageFileExecutive" in registry edit to prevent the OS from paging its kernel files into your pagefile.
If you don't want to go through the hassle, it is best to leave it as it is.
