Mac OSX on T60 2007-FVG using leo4all version3

#1 Post by thormdac » Thu May 01, 2008 6:53 am

@all,

like to let you know how simple ( upto now! ) the installation of mac os x went with leo4all version 3:

- x1400 graphics can be chosen under customized installation and runs out-the-box!

- wlan 11abgn , ar5bxb72 ( most important for me!!! ) runs out-the-box :D

- sound seems to ned some working done
- double- tap on touchpad doesn`t work
- hangs on sleep

as far as i found in google, the downs seem fixable, will let you know once time is available

-- for sure am missing on getting this fan sorted out- its constantly on, tpfancontrol isnt working, or i dont know howto

What do you mean runs out of the box? 1680x1050 resolution working?

resolution on the 15" ips T60 2007-fvg runs on maximally 1400x1500, 60 hertz!

and yes, this runs out-of-the-box with leo4all v3.

Got Leopard (Leo4all) on my T60p, however when I selected to install the FireGL drivers it kept hanging on boot and appeared to 'burn' lines into my LCD. It also messed up grub (bootloader), and I lost access to linux, although funnily enough windows still booted just fine...

After I reinstalled OSX without the video drivers (think I only installed sound drivers), and applied that script thats floating around here, everything was fine.

Note: I havent tried to use wireless (probably won't work) or any suspend/sleep/hibernater/advanced functions.

Does external screen (extended) or resolution change works on your installation?

- The T60p install script by MaloventEvil in the stickied thread in this board (http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=28200).

- During install, when selecting drivers, I selected the following sound drivers: AppleAzaliaAudio and AC97 (I can't remember their exact names). I got the info on what drivers to install from here: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index ... les#T60P_2

- Hmmm, not sure about this one as I use an external mouse, but I'm sure the trackpoint worked...so therefore I assume the touchpad works too. Will check this out and confirm.

EDIT: The trackpoint works perfectly, but the touchpad doesn't register clicks. So its basically a trackpoint :P

EDIT2: Trackpad is now fully operational! (see instructions a few posts down).

I don't use an external screen, but I do remember looking at the resolution change settings. From what I remember I don't think it worked. The script mentioned in the first post should set the resolution to the native res of your laptop, although if you're using an external monitor I gather you're stuffed.

I'll also add that I get an error during boot saying "Failed to load extension.org.tgwbd.driver.ACPIPS2Nub". Apparently this problems prevents or has something to do with legacy keyboard/mouse connectors (ps2). However I use an external keyboard (ps2) and mouse (usb) with no problems - so as they say, 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'.

One last thing, I've also notice temporary graphical glitches under the cursor especially while scrolling. They correct themselves when the cursor or anything else is moved over the area.

I'm trying to install Leo4Allv3 on the second primary partition on my T60, freshly created. Tried to leave it unformatted, ntfs, ext2.
Can't get (Leo4Allv3) disk utilities to format that partition to "MacOS extended (journaled)".
Any hints?

I'm pretty sure OSX utilities are unable to format/use (i think) ntfs partitions. I read somewhere that you should format with FAT prior to trying to install OSX.

I used partition magic to create, iirc, a FAT partition and it seemed to work perfectly.

Ah well I've never really had a problem with my fan (maybe I'm deaf? :P) but have you tried to find other mac fan control programs (found one called smcFanControl). Although I'm assuming thinkpad fan systems are compatible with mac fan control software, if this isn't the case then it may never work.

Don't know if I should have made a double post but I thought it was important enough. Anyway I figured out how to get the trackapd to detect clicking/dragging.

Go to System Preferences (click apple logo in the top menu bar) then find the "Keyboard & Mouse" icon (in hardware row) and click on the "Trackpad" tab. Look under gestures and tick "Clicking" and any of the following "Dragging" and/or "Drag (Lock)". Thats it! You now have a fully functional trackpad.

What is the best / latest version of Leo4All or any other OS X that would work well on a T61 and X61t?

Please point me to them / PM me on how I can obtain them.
