Thinkvantage client security- "authentication failed&qu

#1 Post by samson » Thu May 01, 2008 5:11 pm

i received my t61p a couple days ago, and cannot for the life of me get this software to function properly. i'm tying to enable website fingerprint passcoding... however, after scanning my finger, software says "succeeded" but "authentication fails" which ultimately forces me to type in my backup password by selecting the option for having problems with the fingerprint reader.

Anyone know what's causing authentication to fail?

thanks
sean

I vaguely recall this happening on my T43 about two years ago. I guess it was running CSS 6.0 back then.

I recommend you uninstall, then reinstall CSS 8.0. I posted comprehensive instructions on uninstalling and reinstalling CSS, Fingerprint Software and Password Manager elsewhere in this forum. Unfortunately, I don't have the direct link, so search for it.

You also may need to adjust your firewall settings to set CSS executables and DLLs as trusted applications.
