Did I just have video ram separation on my A30?

Vertical lines, 4 bit color, low resolution, blue screen of death when I tried to up the video. I finally squeezed the case right above the "thinkpad" button and it went back to normal. Gotta lift the keyboard now and stack rubber tape on the Vram to keep it in contact?

A change in air pressure when the thunder storms came through yesterday? I wish it had a replaceable video board, this has been one of my most reliable toys.

Most of us would have the same wish, and not only for A3x series...

You may do better with a couple of post-it(s) on the GPU...

Good luck.

I used to have an A31 with a flakey GPU. I took a few sheets of metal and placed them between the GPU and the CPU fan. (The fan assembly is right over the GPU) Aside from having the PGU held down by pressure so it'll act normal, the thing has something of a heatsink now too. Since doing that, the system ran reliably up to the day I sold it to another forum member.
