Is there a CMOS HACK for 192 error?

Lo Experts,

I have, of course , searched the forum before posting this topic .. no topic around talks about a CMOS hack for 192 error ... all of them talks about changing the CMOS battery ...

In 2006, with ur help, I was able to find a CMOS hack for 8611 error

I wonder if anyone has discovered a 192 hack ..

192 is a fan error.
Guess after so many years you need to replace the CMOS (CR 2025) as mentioned.
What do you want to hack, and what is your symptom?
Try another fan if you have one.

RealBlackStuff thanks for the fast reply .. but the error I get is for a CMOS battery error ... it needs a replacement ... my question was is there a BIOS hack smiliar the one I posted above for 8611 error .. for the 192 error ??

The only way AFAIK to solve error 192, is replacing that CMOS.
Don't try the CR 2032, it will not work, you need a CR 2025.
Also, check your fan for dirt or dust bunnies. Is it working at all?

Ok just bought a CR 2025 Lithium battery from RadioShack but this type isn't a rechargeable ... will try to install it now ... wish me luck and thanks for ur great help

As far as I know, none of the "button" cells like the CR2032 or CR2025 are rechargeable so that should not matter. The 192 error can sometimes be caused by a weak CMOS battery and other times it could simply be that the fan is not spinning. Replacing the CMOS battery (if it's never been done before, then it's about time) is a lot easier than trying to open up the system and un-bolting the fan.
