Mixing AC Adapters?

#1 Post by bluto » Sat May 03, 2008 1:57 pm

Can I use the IBM AC adapter from my now-defunct A31p with my new X61 tablet?

The only difference I can see on the adapter labels is that the new Lenovo adapter outputs 20V and the old IBM outputs 16V. Would the old adapter fry anything in the X61 - or maybe not fully charge the battery?

You should not mix voltages. I wouldn't think the adapter plugs are even the same. The adapter plugs are very different on my 20v and 16v adapters. ... JDH

No, the plugs are different and the voltage is too low as well.
