Absolutely amazing...

I am not easily impressed when it comes to things in the tech world. Today, however, I am solidly impressed.

I ordered my T61 earlier this week (around the 6th). At that time, the estimated ship date was June 5th.

The order got cancelled, and then rewritten/reentered, due to a clerical error. Again, expected ship date of June 5th.

This morning, I came in to a shipping notice from Lenovo. The entire unit, complete, shipped from their Hong Kong distro center today, and will be here Monday.

And they didn't charge me for shipping, even on the initial order!

I think I can sum it up in one word: Wow.

You might want to keep a close eye on the tracking page and not keep your hope up. The scheduled Monday shipping notice might be another clerical error!! :lol:

Also be prepared for an interminable customs delay. That's quite an annoyance. :evil:

actually, my experience was similar. I ordered my X61 through US lenovo on a thursday via UPS Ground, but I got in the next Wednesday shipped by Expedited. It took only 2 days to reach me after I received the shipping notice.

Why not enjoy the fact with him, and hope this may be a sign of Lenovo getting it's act together at last?
