TABOOK equivalent for Sony Vaio?
TABOOK equivalent for Sony Vaio?
Is there a model chart or TABOOK equivalent for Sony Vaio's? The number of different configurations is even more complicated than IBM Thinkpads!
Thinkpad X200s w/ Ultrabase
C2D SL9600 / 8GB / 160GB X25-M G2 / BD MULTI / 12.1" WXGA / INTEL 4500MHD / INTEL 5150 / BT / AT&T WWAN / W7

The person most likely to know the answer to that is Emanuel Brown, a member of the Forums and a long time member of the Thinkpad mail list.

Hey, I just spotted this, sorry for the delay. Nope, IBM's superior support really shows on matters like this - Sony has nothing like a tabook.pdf or twbook.pdf. You're right that the models can be confusing, especially since in the last couple of years they switched to using a 2-name scheme like IBM. In the way that my X30 is a 2673 series Thinkpad, my R505-TEK is a PCGA-161L. When Sony started with laptops in 1997, my 505G was just a PCGA-505G.
I'm not much for the new models, though, and haven't kept up with them - once Sony dropped the C1 picturebook series, they lost me. There are much better options out there if you aren't getting the smallest, lightest machine made.
