Time? Running MemTest 86/+ thru 1G, 4G RAM Sticks?

I'd like to do a comprehensive memtest on the following memory configurations using either MemTest 86 or MemTest Plus and/ or other Memory Test Apps that you might recommend in the following configurations on the new T61 if / when I decide to keep it (Its a 2.2 GHz Core 2 Duo 8892 02U):

1 x 1G RAM

2 x 2G RAM

How much time would I need to RUN it and leave the laptop? Ballpark?

Ive run it before on my Dell 9300 but apparently it never gets done or does multiple repeat cycles.

Do advise.
