Which Chipset do I have?

#1 Post by 90base » Fri May 16, 2008 1:24 am

I have a Thinkpad R52 1858-CTO
The Serial Number is L3-XXXXX

I put a 1.73 SL7SA in the computer and now when it Boots up it says Intel Centrino Moblie Technology I have checked this out and it says I have to have the 915 Chipset for that, I though i had the 910.

Thanks
Brandon

Poking around the Parts Lookup page and checking the R5x HMM seems to say that you do have the 910GML chipset. Trying downloading CPU-Z and verify what that program says. If you do indeed have a 910GML then what Intel reference are you looking at which says that you need a 915? Sorry, but I don't know much about the requirements for calling a system a "Centrino". Possibly because you replaced the Celeron with a Pentium M qualifies for it???
