Bluetooth Driver?

#1 Post by Mugenlude » Sat May 17, 2008 3:56 pm

I have a T41 which I didn't think had a bluetooth card install, so I purchased a card and antenna to install in the laptop since I didn't have any bluetooth signal...

So I got to install the card, and low and behold, there is already a card installed. Well, maybe it's just damaged, so I install the new bluetooth card (Actiontec BMDC200)... Nothing changed.

Is there some driver that I need to install? Under the Bluetooth Device window there is no hardward information included. When I attempt to use "Troubleshooting", nothing happens, no troubleshooting window opens or anything. Clicking the "Properties" doesn't work either (makes since if if there is no hardware seen).

I just installed all ThinkVantage updates also thinking that would help, no go...

What am I doing wrong here? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance...

I think you have to turn it on, press Fn-F5.

I tried that and it didn't seem to see anything. Wouldn't there at least show a driver for the bluetooth device regardless of whether it is on or off, it should still be installed.

Anymore help?

You can either turn it on by the Fn+F5 hot key or by Access Connection utility. Then it will pickup the driver.

OK, I got it figured out... thanks guys. The whole pushing the Fn key with the F5 was escaping me, geez, you think I never worked on a computer before...

Sucks that I had what I needed the whole time, wish I would have figured this out about 6 months ago!!!
