Thinkpad X200 and X200s with Solid State Disk only?

Why does Lenovo selle the Xxxx series with solid state disks only?
Those things are extremely expensive.

Even the X200 series comes with Flash SSD:

On Toshiba's and Samsung's web pages they offer their new 1.8" HDD with 120GB and 5400 rpm. That would be much more preferable, according to my private wallet... :(

I think it's unfair to say they "sell" them considering they haven't even officially announced them :roll:

I recall some people longing for the days when Thinkpads had premium quality, premium hardware, and prices to go along. Be careful what you wish for?

Well,
officially new Thinkpads are not announced yet. However the usual sources like Havard and Wharton have their Thinkpad nad Dell reps coming to campus with new models about 4-8 weeks earlier

I could imagine SSD being even smaller than 1.8" disks. Also one can theoretically give them a totally different shape so that the X200 can be made even more slick and/or small.

If it's true it's not such a big problem since the X200 will have a docking station and you can have a big hdd on it...
