X31 - System boards interchangeable?

#1 Post by demesne » Wed May 21, 2008 3:43 pm

I have an X31, model 2672-JHU, it's got a 1.4Ghz CPU, Security Chip and Gigabit ethernet.

Recently I have been having troubles with it - sometimes it doesn't boot up, otherwise it will crash after using it for 15-20 mins or so. I am pretty sure it's a system board issue.

Now, I managed to find a vendor on eBay that someone recommended on this forum - itthinker - who is selling X31 system boards. However, the boards they are selling don't seem to appear on the Hardware Maintenance Manual.

After digging around for some details, the system board on offer is 1.6Ghz, with a security chip, but only 10/100M ethernet.

Would it still work if I swapped my existing system board for this one?

There's no reason for it not to work, to the best of my knowledge and belief.
