what a bad day on X61t

#1 Post by ronan_zj » Wed May 21, 2008 8:27 pm

Gee, I really have a bad day today, I tried to upgrade the BIOS today, and the program dead during the upgrading, so I turned off the tablet, and I could hear a series beep. After that, the worst thing happened, I could not power on my tablet, when I pushed the power button, only the fan ran, indicate lights on. Hard drive didnt not load, screen kept black.....
Called Lenovo, and they would sent me a box for deposit repair service...the most important is I had a bad experience on their repair center at TN already for my T60, now this time again on my X61t.

Ouch!
I had a similiar experience, but luckily not with the BIOS.
When windows was 'do not power down, installing updates' upon shutdown, I hit the power cord, and off it turned it off.
Screwed up my Windows pretty bad.

I had a similar experience on a desktop motherboard long ago. I have never even tried to flash a BIOS since then unless I had a good reason.

Fixing it entailed sending the board in under warranty, though in retrospect I should have opted to pay the $15 to have a new BIOS chip shipped out to me. I suspect you will have to send your computer in, but it probably won't be a difficult repair.
