T61 Atmel TPM exclamation point in device manager

#1 Post by excel03 » Fri May 23, 2008 1:47 pm

XP SP3
All updates installed
3gb ram
core 2 duo T9300

I reinstalled windows, and also all the T61 updates. When I go in device manager, there's an exclamation point next to the SECOND Atmel TPM. There is 2 in total.

Anyone knows what this is all about?

Regards,

Alex

That's the trusted platform module you should be able to get that from the driver matrix for your model on the lenovo site.

I did install this update;

in device manager, there is 2 Atmel shown.

One is ok, the second has the exclamation point. Don't know what to do. I disabled it.. Thanks for the reply though :-)

I have the same exact thing happening.

When I look at the message, it reads:

"This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)"

Does anyone else have any ideas?

Read somewhere that if you install CSS the second Atmel entry goes away. Always possible to just delete the one with the exclamation point and it doesn't come back. Shouldn't affect anything since there's only one TPM chip on the mobo anyways.
