Battery

#1 Post by Richard,Belanger » Fri May 23, 2008 2:16 pm

I have a R31 IBM and my battery indicator is fluee. That is it doesn't show state of charge. It showes full charge and than it shuts down. Checking the battery it shows down to 3% and the indicator shows down. Change the battery and it shows down and all of a sudden it shows full charge. It use to work OK but the battery didn't hold charge. Bought a new one but didn't last more than a hour. I plugged and unplugged the Bat in rapid sucssion and it went for 3 hours BUT the indicator didn't work. Any Ideas

Welcome to the forum! What is your current battery information detailed by the battery maximiser program? If you're not familiar with the battery maximiser program, it tells you the design capacity and remaining capacity. You can d/l this at the lenovo website.

As your battery ages the remaining capacity will diminish overtime. I have a few that I'm testing and they range from .514wh loss per cycle to .071wh loss per cycle. Sometimes you will gain (wh) if you completely drain and charge the battery overnight. Hope this helps.
