laptop "forgets" defined power scheme?

Sometimes my fan seems to be "stuck" at a high speed (3500 rpm) even though the temp is reasonably low, and the only way to slow it down seems to be to change the power scheme, even if you change it to the same one that its already set at.

Hello everybody!
I'm experiencing the same thing on Z series. Somehow computer "forgets" to use defined power scheme so I have to "remind" him by clicking on any scheme in "manage power schemes" in the ThinkVantage panel.

Anybody has an idea how to solve this problem?

I believe this is the appropriate place to ask :)

Cheers,

Little update:
After swapping fan,CPU,memory and motherboard, simptoms still exist as it was explained in original message. At least, I have new MB now :)

It would be really nice from Lenovo to solve this annoying issue in some future bios update or some kind of patch. I mean, even some budget laptops I owned had this function properly implemented.

OK,if it is not possible to solve it directly then at least indirectly with few lines of code:
IF ((temp is low enough) AND (fan is still running)) RUN (power manager and choose already selected power scheme).

I hope some of their engineers reads this forum...
