T41p Recovery CDs (5 of them) record to one DVD, how?

#1 Post by Chatbox » Tue Dec 14, 2004 4:14 pm

I want to do the recovery process from a DVD rather than 5 CDs. Is it possible for me to somehow merge all the 5 CDs into one functional DVD?

Just burn the set again, this time to DVD- using IBM rescue and recovery. You will need one boot CD and one data DVD.

Sorry for breaking into your thread.

But how do you generate the recovery CD's
IBM T60
14,1" (1400x1050), 1,83GHz Core Duo, 64MB X1300
1GB RAM, 100GB 7200 HDD, DVD burner

if you dont have the seriously overpriced multiburner, it doesnt allow you to burn DVDR recovery discs.

hmm, i wonder if mapping a network DVDR would work so i could use the one in my desktop machine..

Well, I was able to burn a set of one boot CD and one data DVD with an external firewire DVD drive.

Exactly how do you get the recovery DVD images? I don't see any option, it just asks me to insert the first CD.

I have a new T42.

Thanks.

1st remark: ofcourse you can only do this if you have a DVD burner.

although it asks for a cd, you can just feed it a dvd-r.

BUT, it always makes a 2 disc set.
The first is so small it fits on a cd-r
So feed the program 1st with a cd-r and on the 2nd request
give it a dvd-r.

done this on my t42p. it works
