Random Taskbar Notification Icons Disappearing

When the system (XP) boots, sometimes all the taskbar notification icons appear. Sometimes one or two will be missing (e.g. sound adjustment; OneNote; eBoostr...)

Sometimes a reboot will fix it, sometimes it won't.

Any idea...? A solution will be appreciated.

They might be hidden. Click the double arrowheads at the left of the taskbar and see if it expands to reveal the other icons.

I had a similar problem with XP, mainly when coming back from sleep. A reply here directed me towards using Startup Delayer (www.r2.com.au/), which solved my problem.
