SOLD: Like-new X60s, $749 shipped *With Pics* SOLD

#1 Post by AvalonXIII » Mon May 26, 2008 1:50 pm

Hello folks,
I have up for sale a X60s in like-new condition. The screen is immaculate with no defect. The laptop is in like-new condition as it mainly sits at home and is not put into used. I purchased this laptop 3 months ago and haven't found much used for it. The model number is 1702-37u. Warranty on this machine expires on 7/5/2010
I have upgraded this machine to 2GB of ram.
I have the original box and all accessories, as well as all documentations.
Looking for $749 shipped to continental US, international shipping is accepted, but the buyer is responsible for shipping and any customs fee involved. Shipping to Europe is preferred. I accept Paypal as a payment method.
Thanks!

Here is a few pictures:

New update: I have replaced the 100GB harddrive with the original 40GB, 5400rpm. The reason for this is that I want this machine to be trouble-free for new owners. I have performed a custom factory restore with no bloatware and only drivers. The factory recovery partition is still intact so you can perform your own factory restore any time you need to. However, because the capacity is less, I will slash $50 off the current price, bringing it down to $749
Furthermore, I will now do worldwide shipping, as long as the buyer pay with Paypal verified, and agree to pay the extra amount for shipping as well as any customs fee involved. Thanks!

The item is SOLD. Mods please lock this thread. Thanks!

I'll post some photo tonight since I don't have a camera handy right now (away from home)
Also, I'll only ship to continental US, sorry.
EDIT: I asked my family to take some pictures and send it to me. So now the pictures are up.
Also, the machine is FULLY FUNCTIONAL.

The machine is made in July 2006, I bought it in 2008, so it must have stayed in storage during that time. Also, just to clarify, the machine was brand new, sealed when I bought it. I'm the original owner of the machine.

hi

to correct this problem, contact IBM (i did it via email) and they should update the warranty coverage. it should start at the time you purchased the unit and not when it was made.

Sorry, but I would like to get money via Paypal and have a confirmed shipping address from the buyer. Can you sign up for Paypal and transfer fund from your bank account to me via Paypal(after all verification and confirmation)? Sorry for the hassle but I want to have some sort of protection.
Also, free shipping is for the US only. I can probably help you out a small part of the shipping but you have to cover the rest.
If you agree to pay via Paypal then PM me your address after signing up (registration is free, don't worry about it), and I'll give you a shipping quote and how much I can help you with shipping.
Thanks!

You'd get no protection from PayPal sice you'd be shipping to an unconfirmed address. There's no way for anyone in Europe apart from UK to have their address confirmed.

But honestly you don't need protection at all, not from this forum member...

You can sell and ship to raket with no issues. I've just sold a ThinkPad to him and he's 100% stand-up guy.

I agree with George. No guarantee from Paypal to an unconfirmed address. If George says someone is ok, that's good enough for me. (just my two-cents, I have worked with George and I'm fine with what he says about members, though in life anything can happen)

Good luck,
Ron

Only US, canada and the UK can confirm their address. The rest of the world cannot (nobody knows why). So there will always be an risk for both party's when you ship abroad.

I'm not sure exactly how the PayPal address confirmation works, but some countries have bank privacy laws that prohibit the release of client information to merchants. I had to give up on buying from a particular U.S. based online shop once, as they were not allowed to access personal information on my credit card account. When I rang the local bank about it, their reply was: "they expected us to give them what?!"

I just registered yesterday on this wonderful forum because X6xs are expensive in France even on eBay :(
If i win the auction and pay you with Paypal, will you be OK to send it to France ? Of course i will pay for the shipping costs :) I assume it will be something between $50 and $100. BTW, how much does the package weigh ?
(and sorry for my english, i only spent 2 years in the US 8 years ago working at PennState University, and hadn't practiced my english a lot since then).

Yes, shipping to Europe is fine, as long as you pay the shipping cost and any other fee involved. Also, if you want it fast, I recommend you to use the buy-it-now option. If I receive the money today, I can ship it to you right away after the payment is cleared.
Or better yet, just send me a pm indicating that you want to buy it on this forum, and I will give you my Paypal address to pay. Once the money is received, I will cancel the auction and ship your item right away after the payment is cleared.
