problem with T41 speaker

It seems that EVERY SINGLE TIME my computer plays a sound, even short 1 second sounds like the "click" sound internet explorer makes when navigating to a new webpage, I hear a short hiss from my speakers.

What it really sounds like is static, but it only lasts about a second or so. I wouldn't mind it so much if it was random, but it does it after EVERY sound bit that is played.

When I play music I don't notice it, but I sure as hell hear it during normal operation.

What is causing this?

That is definitely not right, you should call support assuming you are not missing something very obvious, or that you are not an audiophile and are percieving things that nobody else does. But you should have already done the following by now. You might have problems with the wire connections or insulation (if one speaker does it but not the other, it could possibly be something like this). Otherwise, try connecting it to external speakers and try the same, if you get the problem even with updated drivers, it looks like you have a hardware issue. This all I can really think of with the information I have right now.

where can I take it that will service IBM thinkpads? My laptop is only 7 months old.
