X61s with Vista x64 - System Update 3 not working

I tried running System Update 3 on my X61s and I noticed it didn't work. I installed everything I needed (drivers, etc.) before I installed SP1 for my Vista Ultimate x64.

Can anyone tell me why it won't work?

what doesn't work about it? does it give an error message?

I try to open System Update 3, the splash screen comes up and stays there for about 2 minutes then disappears. Nothing loads afterward.

I had just the same. I've uninstalled it, installed again and worked like a charm. Without additional tricks

I'm having a problem where I'll let it search, it'll download all packages, install, and then it'll restart.

But not all of the software actually seems to install. And when I run system update to try again, it says it's been installed. Anyone have this problem? I've never had the issue before this laptop.
