which version are you talking about, 174.71?
there was a long time in between when lenovo updated the graphics driver for xp (previous driver was from 2007).
i'm running xp sp3, nvidia quadro fx 570m 256mb, no problems with my dual monitor setup.

It's just an application used to *show* 3D power with numbers. I also overclock the GPU to get very high scores. Just for fun. ;)

Pascal,

Wow! You can overclock your 570m core upto 700Mhz! Mine goes upto 660Mhz only and my 3Dmark is 5600.
But I am not sure the driver is faster. You have a 5790 3Dmark score, I'd say its not the driver but the overclocking... If you compare it to the numbers we have in this thread: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=53710

We have not improvements from drivers imho, but I have not tried the drivers. The previous drivers were clock-locked, are these really overclocking enable?

Hi Kel Ghu !

I read your file about overclocking. When overclocking, many things can change the score. It don't spend too much time with Quadro OC. I do it with a first Windows XP install to check if the laptop is fine. After, I format the drive and start the *working* installation with all application and my stuff. So, it's over to play OC.

I'am not sure the driver change performances a lot since Quadro FX 570m is based on the G84 witch comes form the quiet *old* G80. So to run 3D Mark, they must be fine from long time ago.

What can change the score is T9300 (L2 cache is great for 3D Mark) and also all the Penryn improvements. Also, using 2 same memory stick (2 x 1GB or 2 X 2GB) set the chipset in Dual Channel mode, CL4 DDR2-677 also helps. Windows XP is still much faster than Windows Vista for 3D benchmarks. To overclock, I use RivaTuner 2.07 witch works fine with Quadro.

In notebookreview forum, on guy goes over 3000 with Quadro NVS 140m !

Actually, my 570m can overclock upto 780Mhz, but I get artifacts if I go higher than 660Mhz. Though, we don't really see them in 3DMark.

I know CPU, memory can change the score, but still, big improvement comes from overclocking the GPU. My point was just that new drivers are not really faster (because you said [censored] fast).

Those drivers improve performances for Quadro NVS 140m. 3D Mark score goes up and a lot of games runs smoother. For Quadro FX 570m, it seems they did not change the performances a lot. You are right.
