X60T and X61T "Flexview" question (PIC)

#1 Post by venro » Thu May 29, 2008 11:57 am

Now I own T60 14" sxga+, but I want to change it to X6x tablet version. Why? Mainly for better screen (really don't want 15" IPS) and weight.

And here's a big question. Does all XGA, SXGA+, MultiTouch or not are Flexview/IPS like matrix? Is there a differences between them in brightness, contrast, angles?

First I thought they're all the same, but I found this and wondering begins :)

What kind of displays are they?

multi touch/multi view is differernt from superview.
I personaly only have X61 tablet with SXGA+, and I do really like my screen. Not sure about 12.1 XGA screen, but it should not be bad tho.

SXGA+ is brighter, but funny enough the superview doesnt look beter in the sun. Viewingangles are maybe just a tad better on the flexview SXGA+, but it has the shimmering, the XGA does not.

I once read the XGA (MT/MV) is an SPVA screen, and the SXGA+ is ... but you already knew that... an S-IPS.

Having both screens here I do must add that the S-IPS shows white as real hard white, while the XGA has a more yellow tint to it. While working on the XGA notebook not having the other notebook sitting next to it you won't notice, but having an other screen next to it you do notice... it does not really bother me... but ThinkPad fans are known for their pickyness :P

agree, MultiTouch XGA is better than SXGA+ SuperView in the Sun
x61 tablet: L7500/4GB RAM/momentus 7200.3 320G/SXGA+/BT/4965AGN/Windows Vista Ultimate x64
t60: T2400/2GB RAM/momentus 7200.2 200G/14.1 SXGA+/BT/3945ABG/Windows Vista Ultimate
Save up for rainy day.

Thank You for Your reply.

I'm thinking of buying X60t with XGA WVA MultiTouch/MultiView.
Could You compare it to 15" IPS in T60?

Are You comparing X60t or X61t series?

I prefer the 1400x1050 sxga+ resolution and I hope it can be at least useful in the sun :?

The Notebooks I compared are both X61T.
I took a few pictures in the garden in direct sunlight, and so fort.

For daily usage I would take the SXGA+, but the MT/MV is a lot cheaper here.
