Z60m won't work without AC adapter

I have a Z60m that has been working great for 2.5 years. This morning I unplugged the laptop and it turned off on its own. Yesterday, I was using the battery with no problem and was getting about 2.5 hours per charge. This morning it just does not work at all. Do you guys have any insight?

Possible causes:

1. Dying battery.

2. Bad AC Adapter.

3. Failing motherboard circuitry.

Yes, that was my problem. Luckily the battery was covered under a recall and I did not have to buy a new one.
