System Update v3.14 - Package Index Server Trouble

#1 Post by eecon » Sun Jun 01, 2008 9:52 pm

As of the last 24 hours, I've been continually getting the following message after executing a manual Lenovo System Update v3.14:

"The package index server is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."

It happens every time after the search for updates gets to 10% to 30% completion at all times of the day and night.

Anyone else? Thanks

I've gotten that message before. It's usually fine the next day.

We really need to hack the old Software Installer so that it will shove System Update 3 into the wild blue yonder. SI was so much better.

If Lenovo wants to pay me to watch their banner ads while updating, then I might reconsider, LOL.

Mark has posted the reason for the problems here on the Lenovo forum. It would seem to be most systems were set as default to update at the start of the month causing the problem.

Painfully slow. Lenovo has to focus on this.
