I'm using a Pam Treo 755p and love it. The standard PDA features are great but thing I love the most is that I can use it as modem when I'm on the road....with Linux

Also, I'm pretty happy with its download speed (using Sprint) and coverage. Besides, $25/mo. for an unlimited data plan is pretty good (and IBMers get 25% off of that :D).

Hate to rub it in, but where do you live? I have the same phone and my unlimited Power Vision data plan is $15 a month. As for the 25% discount, do you work for IBM? Just curious............

I've been using Nokia 6210 for 8 years (bought in 2000). I love its design and its simplicity. It is good enough for daily use. IMO, old cell phones give less trouble than newer cell phone.

Blackberry. Company-provided and paid for. Wouldn't have it any other way...

The best phone I've ever owned was Nokia 3589i on Verizon Wireless network. It survived a zillion falls and used to ring anywhere and everywhere, including most of the subway stations. Became useless when we moved to PA where Verizon's coverage at the time was horrible, so we switched to Nextel (what a joke) because of the discount my wife had with them...never again.

If and when I end up buying a cell phone again, it'll probably be a Nokia...

I have a Motofone F3, as I do not use any other functions than calling/being called and the occasional text message and if it gets stolen/misplaced/damaged, it's easily replacable.

A month and a half after my last dead iPhone, now the "new" (refurbished) one has static in the ear piece. That's because I threw it at a jail cell wall, but Apple doesn't have to know!

I've got the lovely Openmoko Freerunner and have the Nokia 6230 just incase of software crashes (and the spare battery). It's got a similar finish to Thinkpads and the similar quality feel.

I have a Moto Razr V3.

It calls people, receives call and can send text.

It looks good and works great. It came with my plan.

I may or may not upgrade later on when my contract allows.

Here's why:

I got a cell to call people and so they can call me. Not to play games, take notes, listen to music, watch video or anything else. I wanted a mobile telephone.

It's sad that I had to jump through hoops with AT&T before they would understand. It's almost as if the salesperson couldn't grasp that I wanted a basic phone, no case, no skin, no extras. It was a foreign idea to him. It also made me sad.

I will never pay for a cell-phone out of pocket. If it comes with the plan great. Otherwise it's too much phone and i'll take the plan freebie thanks.

First generation Apple 8GB iphone quickpwned firmware 2.0.2 with protective film and a black AGENT18 hardback casing.

I actually really like this phone. The touch screen is incredible intelligent, thus making it intuitive. Easy to take notes, calendar is good, internet browser is superior, and a good *NIX based OS as a foundation. I communicate using openSSH.

I bought an unlocked Blackberry Pearl 8100, am using it with prepaid, and have yet to make a phone call.

No push on prepaid, of course, but I'm making up for it with unlimited data. Opera Mini, GMail Mobile, and Beejive are brilliant.

I'm anxiously waiting for the press conference tomorrow on the T-Mobile G1 (Dream) Android phone. I'm done with the iPhone, so hopefully it can fill the gap until I find a phone I really want.

I have now made a single phone call using the phone. Given the Pearl's battery life, it's fairly ironic that it ended when the other party's battery ran out.

After a brief affair with a 16GB first-gen iPhone I am happily humming along with a Nokia N95 8GB. It's pretty excellent and definitely way better than the iPhone, for me at least. I am way digging it, though I sometimes wonder if I should have gone with an N82 instead.

But why second-guess myself--this phone is really great. I am enjoying it thoroughly.

I have a Motofone F3 ;)

I do not need anything out of my phone than the ability of calling and being called, and because it's very cheap and rather sturdy, I do not have to worry about it being in my back-pocket at all times.

And the screen is very readable, even in bright light.

Current phone is a Motorola RAZR V3. It works fine but it was a little quirky a couple of days ago. It thought it was still connected to my bluetooth headset when it wasn't connected. Not quite sure what was wrong with it but it is still working.

And now to revive a dead thread!

I just traded my Motorola RAZR V3xx for an ATT Tilt, also known as the HTC Kaiser. It's a brick, but it does a whole lotta stuff. Great phone!

i even remember the number: YL 6-6963 where YL was the channel number..

the best cellular was the motorola razr.. best reception and it always worked in fringe areas..
the iphone original and g3 i use now, not so much..

I'm so glad you guys posted this!

I need a device that can do what my Axim can do but with a phone! I'm pretty much being cheap this year so I'm thinking of the Palm Centro. I don't know about the non-sdhc support though. I like lotsa music so that puts a damper on my expectations! I could always travel with both the Centro and my Axim (as an mp3 player) but would rather have an all-in-one device.

I'm also looking at the Blackberries, At & T Tilt, LG Incite, and Palm Treo.

Right now what I have is Pay-as-you-Go. It's a UT Starcom Arc and it is SO bad in the area I live in! We have one cell tower that was just recently erected and is AT&T/Cellular One territory. The Arc is a triband and reception is horrible! I wouldn't recommend this phone period!

My wife and I recently each got a (grey) Pantech C520 Breeze. http://www.pantechusa.com/web/guest/breeze
Exceptionally good reception in our neck of the woods (AT&T).
Very easy to use, great keys for text messaging.
With both our previous cells (Nokia and Motorola) we could not even get a signal at home, unless we went outside!
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)

My dad would love that phone!

I got him a MP3 player/Phone called the Samsung Juke.... big mistake. It is SO small and my dad is no spring chicken so he has a hard time seeing anything on it! I'm tempted to have him unlock it so we can sell it on fleabay.

Dom how much did you pay for that Pantech Breeze???
