Warning: Acronis TrueImage 11 corrupt files on restore

#1 Post by Puppy » Tue Jun 03, 2008 5:42 pm

I found were nasty problem with Acronis TrueImage 11. I've been using 9.0 version for a long time, did many backup/restore cycles without any problem. I updated to version 11 and did my first backup/restore. After a while I got weird error related unplugging an USB device. It seems as this is common error of this version.

This is scary because it reveales that some files (registry hive files in this case) gets corrupted on restore. I use bootable CD only.

From the discussion thread it appears that Acronis is aware of this serious bug nearly one year and still haven't released any patch. I've been very satisfied with version 9 but don't know what to think about such approach to solve serious problems ...

MOD EDIT: Since there is already a thread about this let's keep it all in one place.
