I just got a backup hardrive for my ultrabay, and coincidentally I had just installed mobile meter, just for curiosity, a few days before. well, before the 2nd hardrive the processor temperature and HD temp were both running just over 40 degrees C. Now the processor and both drives run over 50 degrees C. I guess that's not surprizing with the extra drive? do I need to worry about getting that special arctic whatever paste and busting open my machine (which I've never done before)?

50C wouldn't concern me unduely but keep an eye on it, my A31 was idling a 60+ and reaching 90+ under load. That concerned me! so I stripped, cleaned and repasted it. now it's back to 39/51 (idle/100%) and all is happy again.
