Is it possible to boot off the SD card?

#1 Post by mybellyisempty » Thu Jun 05, 2008 9:01 am

Just as it says, is there any way to boot off the SD Card slot? I'd love to set up a 32 bit XP to run for while I'm at school, as they're not 64 bit compatible.

Bumping this again. Question now holds true for the X61 as well.

no, the BIOS doesn't support booting from SD card. i don't think it is possible to format a bootable SD card either. if you really want to use XP pro 32 bit you could use BartPE to create a live XP CD, or just install XP 32 bit on your hard drive.

I know they're doing it with Asus EEE's, didn't know if the Lenovo's could do it.

Crap.

No, not installing XP32...I don't care for dual booting, rather just use separate drives.

Oh well. I'll just stick with 32bit on my X61.

I just ordered a couple of these babies! 8)

Watch the video, and demo. U3 technology is pretty cool. I just hope it will work with Vista x64. :?

Although, it looks like they are...hopefully...
