Time for a new machine - Buying Question
I've had my X31 for nearly a year now and its done the job.
Looking to upgrade and I want a similar sized machine that fits my docking ports that I have (home / work) .
I'm upgrading as Im in a new shoe-box NYC apartment and I want to use my laptop as my TV/Media centre etc. ... as well as for work.
I have bought a 28 Inch ViewSonic (http://tinyurl.com/6fhehv) to act as my main screen when docked.
My question: What would be a great new or 6 to 12 months old machine that is as small as the x31 but has a lot more power + graphics support to run the monitor at a great price? I have 2GB sticks in this x31 that I could take out, but happy to go bigger if there is the option.
Cheers,
Chris

X61 would be your best bet, but it'll use a different type of RAM.
The x3100 will be ok for what you're looking at doing. Certainly not going to find anything better from Lenovo as far as video goes. Asus has a better videocard in some of their 12.1" models, but I'd prefer the Lenovo quality.
