CD/DVD drive problem

Guys!
I have T61 with DVD burner, which can play/burn both CD and DVD as usual. But some days ago I got a trouble with CD discs - drive can't recognize them. So i can't play, burn, boot from any CDs.
At the same time, with DVDs is everything is OK!
What is problem? Is it hard or soft problem?

Try better quality CD media and a firmware upgrade on the drive.
