A22M Memory Question

#1 Post by XR41 » Mon Jun 09, 2008 7:10 pm

Hi Folks, i´d like to upgrade my A22M, Type 2628 to 768 MB. I´ve found this http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/PC-100#footnotes and there they say the Max. is 512 MB. Has anyone tried to use more than the official ones ? Thx a lot 4 help. :)

Welcome to the forum!

Unfortunately, your A22m (or any A2x for that fact) will only take 2x256Mb of PC100 or low-density PC133 RAM. High-density PC133 (and all 512Mb chips belong to this group) will not work, your machine won't even boot with it installed.

Hope this helps.

Hi Mate, thank you 4 your answer. In the meantime i´ve found out that the A22 Series is very fussy. If you wanna change or increase the Memory you need RAM with 100 Mhz and 8 Chips per Side. Prices at Ebay to high so i´ll use W2K.

Ciao and Thx, Martin
