You can search for "ccfl vs led" in a search engine to find articles like this one. Advantages seem to be that screens can be thinner and that led's don't dim over time (they just stop working at a certain moment).

it's a huge advantage.   the average LED lasts over 6 years if used at full brightness 24 hours per day.   you can expect 15+ years out of today's LED-backlit displays—much longer than CCFL lasts without serious degradation.

chances are that you'll sell your LED-backlit notebook long before the display dies. ;)

That's what i would have thought too just 10 minutes ago, until i saw this data sheet:

http://www.beck-oled-lcd-tft-display.de ... X6-100.pdf

It says a min. of 10,000 Hrs, but that does sound very conservative, and does leave the afterthought that they don't expect it to last much longer than your typical CCFL.
10,000 hours is just a year and a month :? hmmm

i've seen datasheets with 50,000 hours MTBF so 10,000 is low. :o

my X300 can be extended up to 5 years of warranty so i'm not too worried about it. ;)
