I'm not surprised.

In March 1999, I purchased an NEC MultiSync 1500M (15") for $1,245. At that time, the demand for LCD screens far exceeded supply.

From Day One, I reduced the brightness to 50% to extend the life of the CFL backlights, and I've not had a lick of trouble with the monitor in more than 9 years. Still going strong.

Glad to see that NEC still resists all the "cut the price as much as possible managers" and has courage to use high-quality H-IPS panel.
