unfortunately a lot of research is done at public universities and those do need federal and state funding....goofyGAguy wrote:
And that's exactly how it should be. If embryonic stem-cell research had near the promise that its proponents claim, private companies would be tripping over themselves trying to get a piece of the action.

Not really. Private companies are deadly afraid (and with a good reason, may I add) that the religious right will end up passing a bill that would outlaw stem-cell research altogether, destroying any investment in the process. And that's exactly how it should be. I can't help but wonder if you would feel this way had your city been bombed to get the attention off the Lewinsky scandal, like mine has...my wishes aimed towards the gentleman in question could not be expressed around here, since I don't want to put Mr. Morrow in the uncomfortable position of having to ban me from his forum...Bill Clinton was much descent & cleaver politician!!

I don't agree with that, and I'm not saying that Bill C is "good or bad".....ajkula66 wrote:I can't help but wonder if you would feel this way had your city been bombed to get the attention off the Lewinsky scandal, like mine has...
First, violence is not solution, it simply wrong.
Second, Bill didn't do that ,NATO did, and implication on Monica doesn't make any sense....
Third, forgive me, but I will say this; I would say that even NATO didn't do it, Slobodan Milosevic and people who voted for him and his ideas did it....and unfortunately "your people" are still paying the price.....
Fourth, sometimes violence is only language that someone understands (and if that wasn't done, and conflicts ended in diplomatic manner, you would still have Kosovo)....
Fifth, opinion is like an a***ole, everyone have it....
I hope I didn't push it too far (I apologise if I did)....

c) Milosevic was the only person that the Western World wanted to negotiate with, since they knew that he was the one with the power of guns. By doing that, they helped keeping him in power against the will of majority of the people.

Enjoy the summer and your beautiful town, I wish I were there to open up a bottle or two with you...
I couldn't agree more. That's one of the reasons I've gotten myself beaten to the point of urinating blood for weeks during protests of March 9th, 1991...First, violence is not solution, it simply wrong.

My sources, which happen to be an ex-President of a country involved in the bombing during an informal conversation with my mother while presenting her with an award, would beg to differ with you on this. I'd agree with the part on diplomacy, however, Kosovo had been lost at least 30 years ago, and sooner "my people" get to understand that and learn to live with it, better off they'll be.and if that wasn't done, and conflicts ended in diplomatic manner, you would still have Kosovo)....

No reason for you to apologize for anything, you haven't pushed it too far at all, and are, by all means, entitled to your opinion, whether I agree with it or not. And, as you can see from this post, I do agree with you on quite a few aspects of the whole scenario.I hope I didn't push it too far (I apologise if I did)....

There's nothing to worry about. The " Religious Right " has been trying to overturn Roe v. Wade for thirty five years now.ajkula66 wrote:
