X200, SL, T, & R series on paper, future thinkpads

#1 Post by BillMorrow » Tue Jun 10, 2008 11:51 am

Editorial, sort of..

OK, first off this is NOT that thread..
THAT thread has been put away, out of sight..

It is the policy of this forum to NOT display anyones proprietary information.

Well, what with the vagaries of life and many of us otherwise engaged, on vacation or the like, some such might have been linked to from this forum.thinkpads.com..

I became aware of the thread in question when I received THIS lawyer letter:

Mr. Morrow:

It has come to my attention that your site is currently distributing multiple pages of Lenovo material without authorization. You currently display multiple Lenovo pages (slides) at the following link: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=63144

It appears that you posted this information, and your own posting claims copyright ownership. Please note that the copyright to this material is owned by Lenovo, regardless of how it came into your possession. While I appreciate your enthusiasm and respect for ThinkPad notebook computers, I must ask that you remove all images and other copies of the Lenovo slides.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Regards,

Kevin xxxxxx (last name withheld due to forum policy)
Assistant General Counsel
This forum apologises to lenovo and all lenovo people..

The internet being what it is that thread went viral before anyone knew and could react..

Meanwhile a few good ideas were put forth and some heated discussion was held..

I MAY return the discussion portion of that thread but it will take some time to decide and edit..

Bill,

I understand and support your actions.

In the meantime, given the intense degree of interest in the new Thinkpad models perhaps Lenovo could be encouraged to officially release information to this forum (and elsewhere) as soon as possible.

:D

Actually when i saw the thread, i want to throw stones to lenovo.

Anyway, more (?) information should come out in the next few weeks.

BTW, 51nb.com also got similar warning letter from lenovo back in early Feburary for the leaked X200 photo.
