Close the LCD without set the thinkpad to 'sleep' mode

#1 Post by davidshen » Wed Jun 11, 2008 4:21 am

I have a thinkpad T61. sometimes I just want to close my LCD, but keep my laptop working. I know how to shutdown the screen. but I want to fold the LCD also. but, whenever i fold the LCD, the laptop went to sleep...Zzzz

is it possible to fold the LCD and shut it down, without turn my laptop to 'sleep' mode?

Yes, all you need to do is go into Power Option settings in control panel and under the advanced tab there is a setting there for what to do when lid is closed. I can give you more details if you tell me which OS your running.

Yes. Go to Power Options -> Advanced

You will see an option that says: "When I close the lid of my portable computer"

In the drop down box select "Do nothing."

Now when you you close the lid of your laptop, the screen will shut off but the computer will not sleep or hibernate.

Hope that helps. :o
