Monitor color quality change

#1 Post by gulfview » Wed Jun 11, 2008 2:30 pm

THINKPAD 600X

Every time I turn it off, the color quality setting changes from 24 bits to 8 bits. When it's back on, I have to reset it manually. I am running Windows XP Professional o.s.

What could be the problem? Please advise.

Not sure why that would be happening, but I would double-check that you are setting screen resolution at 1024x768 and that your LCD is being recognized properly. What does Control Panel -> Display -> Settings say about your monitor and driver under "Display"?

There's a "new" (2005) displaydriver ... http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-44320.

And take a look into BIOS and graphicdriver... if you're not using an external monitor, disable this part.

If your 600x comes with TV-out, take a try after reassembling.

I don' think that's a display adapter driver - just the .inf files for external monitors.
