mobo 93P3307 with SXGA+

anyone successfully run SXGA+ lcd on 93P3307 motherboard ?

According to System service parts - ThinkPad T40, T40p, T41, T41p, T42, T42p the 93P3307 is a "System board assembly for ATI M7-32, Gigabit Ethernet with security chip for T41 series", used in e.g. T41's in the 2373-1Ex, 1Fx etc. series. The same info is found in the ThinkPad ComputerHardware Maintenance Manual - T40/T40p,T41/T41p,T42/T42p. If you check the ltwbook (the full title being: "Personal Systems Reference - Lenovo ThinkPad Notebooks 2005 to present - withdrawn - June 2008 - Version 340) and see e.g. 77, you will here see that "ATI M7-32" corresponds to ATI MOBILITY RADEON 7500 / AGP 4X / 32MB DDR1 (DDR-SDRAM), stating: "External monitor support via analog DB-15 connector / up to 2048x1536x16.7M at 75Hz". In other words, the ATI 7500 will support up to that.

As also listed at page 3 in the announcement letter, it clearly says "ATI Mobility RADEON 7500 (32 MB) with 1400 x 1050 resolution TFT display", so all this to say that a 93P3307 should certainly run SXGA+!

So not all motherboard from the T4x series are compatible with the SXGA+ screen. Im trying to salvage a dead motherboard from my old T42p but I can't find one here in Mexico with the FireGL chip.

How can you tell which version of motherboard you have by looking physically at it?

Open up the bottom RAM lid and remove the RAM. You will see a white sticker with the P/N on it.
Check that against the HMM or the mobo-list that I keep on my Board Room website (see my signature).
