One of my T61 HD dead and i created a recovery CD from another T61(bought at the same time with almost same config). But it keep saying wrong disc while i try to install this, is the recovery CD will mark the thinkpad serial number? If so, the only way to do is call lenovo, right?

thanks

The discs should be the same unless the OS and version is different. Do both machines have a Vista Premium COA sticker on the bottom, for example.

OK, describe how created the recovery CD, maybe that's the problem. And by the way, minimally a recovery set must be one CD and one DVD, or at least 6 to 7 CD's.

I used the Recovery media creator come in Vista and created 1 boot disc and 2 DVD. Then i place into the T61 and boot from CD, it got error after i have been requested to put the DVD.
