T41P? System board model: 91P7372.

#1 Post by RobbieThe1st » Sun Jun 15, 2008 12:08 am

Ok, so in relation to my T40's motherboard sort of failing and not charging, I decided to take a look at my spare T4x parts machine.

The case off this box says its a t41P, but the type is unreadable.
The sticker under the system board slot says "Planar FRU PN: 91P7372"

I googled 91P7372 and it appears to be a R51 part number!

The board itself looks almost identical to my T40 board, aside from the fact that the CPU heatsink is the long version, and also cools the GPU(ATI Mobility FireGL T2).

I also need to figure out the CPU type I need - Is it a Pentium 4 based one, or a Pentium M?

I have both the Pentium M chip in the T40, and two P4 chips which fit it, models sl65q and sl6fh.

Any help?

Thanks,

ehh... I have exactly opposite sitution: I need a board for R51 but have another one for T41 :)

you need Pentium-M for this board, not P-4, please let me know if you board successfully works with your LCD via T41 LCD cable, in case my case it does not work (R51 + R51 LCD/cables + T41 board).

I think it is safe to assume that its a R51 board then?

Pentium-M for the board? Great. I will be able to use the nice but slower chip I am currently using then.

LCD cable wise, I am thinking it won't work - I remember a while back I was attempting to put this board into my T40(Hey, it has a much nicer GFX card!), and could never get anything on screen. I will take my T40 apart tomorrow and see if I can get the board working with an external monitor, and verify that it is indeed a good board(Obviously I will try to get the LCD working with it, but I don't hold out much hope).

If it *is* a good board and all I need is the cable, would you be willing to sell me your cable? I would offer to do a trade with you, but I sort of need my laptop in working order and can't risk my R51 board not working and I also don't have an extra cable(either T40 or R51).
