Call Tony, tell him Ron @ Vanguard sent you

AND
You want a HDD Caddy for a Compaq Armada M300 (he had a couple of dozen last time I was there)
Throw the caddy away, and keep the adapter.
It is a fraction of an inch longer and the HDD cover will fit very snuggly to hold the HDD tight.
Both of my i1300 have been running like this for 5 mos of so

Here is a bigger picture

You discard the back and both side rails
The price on this site is a bit steep though

If you're going to get it from newmodeus, you may as well get the one for the i-series 1300 for 5 cents more here: http://newmodeus.com/shop/index.php?mai ... ucts_id=40

$35 is quite expensive for something seemingly as simple as a hard drive caddy though..

yeah that is what i thought to with the newmodeus. wouldnt go to the bother of looking for one but the 1300 other than damage to the base is working only needing the hard drive caddy and the hard drive cover. use to working on desktops and can figure out problems like this one easy but with the laptops learning it aint as easy as a desktop.

I actually have a 1200 series caddy sitting on my desk. Don't have the drive connector though. Back in the day, I used a regular Thinkpad caddy with my 1200. All you had to do was sand down a few protruding knobs on the sides. A 600 series caddy with the plastic tab and a little bit of work with a Dremel worked fine.

If you haven't sourced a caddy yet and don't want to modify a regular caddy, let me know. For a low, low price of $5 it'll be on its way to you via Priority Mail!
Current Thinkpads: 600E, 600X, 701C, A31 (Flexview), R51 (Flexview), R60, T42P (Flexview), TR50E, T60 (Flexview), X61s (Ultralight), Z61m (Ti) Non-Thinkpad: Toshiba 100ct
