2.5' enclosure CF to IDE

#1 Post by jimmy.zou » Sun Jun 15, 2008 2:29 pm

I find there is 2.5' enclosure which allow CF cards to fit into, the output is IDE, can be adapted into IBM T41,T43...
And if we cut it into 1.8 long, it can be used for X40/X41.
:)

Yup...check out this thread:

The CF-based Thinkpad is an interesting beast, but not, in my opinion, the most useful. My CF card and reader have found their way into another project, and my X24 is back to its hard drive.
X61 Tablet - 1.6GHz C2D, SXGA+, 1GB RAM, 100GB HD, Vista Business.

i have other laptops but i'll be honest i never use 'em

I agree with you in most of cases, for example on your X24.
Where CF can contribute the best on the current stage is X40 and X41, which both are using 1.8' IDE HD. The speed improve significantly and there is not many alternative solution for the 1.8 IDE, and there is not many manufactures have interest to make successors for the 2 legency products
