t42 pre-installed drivers/software

I recently bought a t42 but the windows xp it came with was in chinese. So the people I bought the laptop from changed it to an english windows xp. I dunno how they did it. Is it possible to reinstall xp by using that hidden partition? Maybe thats what they did. Anyway, all is good until I realise none of the original software/drivers that came with the laptop are there.
e.g. none of the fn buttons work. there is no access IBM. i dont think there is restore/recover program either. None of those stuff are there.

The only stuff that is there are some drivers. I think the people that changed the xp put them there. It has most of the essential drivers like video/audio/networking/mouse/keyboard/powermanagement etc.

But thats it. I have nothing else. I didnt even realise this until i tried pressing the Access IBM button and nothing happens. None of the IBM specific drivers/software are there. Well at least I can't see any IBM stuff in windows. Does this stuff get deleted when xp is changed? or are they kept on the other partition.

Is it possible to get this stuff out from the hidden partition?? or must I download them from the website? And what software do i really need. I know i need access ibm, access connections, restore and recover. What else do I need? Thanks
