I just had two batteries on my T60 die (as in the "replace the battery" error). First the original extended battery I've had for about 18 or 20 months, then a six-cell I bought from ebay while waiting for my replacement 9-cell to arrive from Lenovo.
I know the chances are that the ebay battery was crap (it showed 63 cycles and only about 75% charging capacity), but I'm just wondering... is it possible that there is something wrong either with my AC adapter or the laptop itself that is killing my batteries??
Thanks.
What is killing my batteries?

Yep, it's possible but I'm curious in knowing about the life cycle of your 18-20 months old battery.
Two things to note here:
1. Unused batteries left over without charging for extended period of time are vulnerable to expire more quickly since these batteries have chemicals (cells) which are moving parts and in order to move them they must be charged and discharged regularly.
2. Batteries are consumable parts, their life cycle degrades the more you use them, wear and tear is a normal part of their lives since they have to be replaced after the end of their life cycle.

Heavy, and unknown
Thanks.
The battery I got with the machine lasted about 18 months. I mostly used the machine plugged in, but had the power settings set up to extend battery life. I'm not surprised the battery eventually failed.
What gets me is that the one I just bought failed in less than a day. The eBay seller said he'll replace it, though.
Just wondering if I can expect my Lenovo replacement battery (if it ever arrives) to flop in a day, too.
