320GB 7200RPM 16MB SATA HDD is HERE!

With all the talk in this forum about HDD's, especially 7200 rpm drives, thought I'd share the following (it's not an endorsement, just FYI).

Just learned Seagate has released what many have been looking for:
320GB SATA notebook HDD 7200RPM 16MB cache
5 year warranty
see the specs
IBM Thinkpad T41 Home | X31 Travel | X60 fun
2GHz Dothan (X60 C2D, X31 1.7 Banias), 2GB RAM, 320GB HDD, DVD Multi-Burner, IBM 11b/g, Bluetooth II, Docks
multi-boot (98SE, W2K, XP PRO, Win7, Linux Mint 10)

That'd be great for the machines that use the SATA drives like the 6x Series and up, but the only thing that it would help with on the earlier (T4x) is if somebody used one of these in a UltraBay Slim SATA HDD adapter.
Family Daily Drivers- T430s, T530, X220
Work- Sadly, the ThinkPads have gone away...... and replaced by HP ProDesk SFF drone machines :(
Other Projects- Edge 15, Z61m (Titanium)
Historic Retired ThinkPads- T42p, X20, A31p, 701c, 760XD, WorkPad C505

I just ordered an Ultrabay SATA HDD caddy yesterday, but that's not quite "the only thing it would help with"...

Another possibility is using the drive in a USB enclosure, which I do. In fact, already have a number of WD 320GB SATA drives used for backup, storage and to hold numerous and large multimedia files, DVD's etc.

Then for those who do not need a CD/DVD in the Ultrabay, they could use the Ultrabay HDD SATA caddy and install their OS to that! You could use an external CD\DVD ROM drive and connect via USB. There are many who MUCH prefer the performance and durability of an external CD/DVD drive, and if the lappie is used at home it could be the preferred setup!

... just some more ideas!
